Objectives: Our study aims to explore to adapt the Turkish version of Problematic Use of Mobile Phones (PUMP) Scale developed by Merlo et al..

Method: In this study that consists of 347 university students reached through convenience sam¬pling method, a cross sectional non-experimental design is used. The research was conducted in Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department. Demographic data form and Problematic Use of Mobile Phones (PUMP) Scale were used as data collection tools. The survey started in March 2017 due to legal and ethical permits and expert opinions for the research. In March 2018, the statistical phase was started.

Results: The sample size and observed correlation coefficients and partial correlation coefficients were appropriate for factor analysis (KMO = 0,909, p <0,001). The total correlation coefficients of the items in the scale varied between 0,349 and 0,658. Cronbach alpha values did not change when any of the items appeared. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the PSQI, which was composed of one factor and 20 items, was 0,864. Test-retest reliability of PUMP Scale is; Twenty respondents replied the PSCOQ scale three weeks later and the total score did not change over time according to the analysis (Z: 1,075; p: 0,323).

Conclusion: The results show that; The problematic Problematic Use of Mobile Phones Scale was found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool for the Turkish population. The use of this scale in order to scan the problematic use of mobile phones in Turkey, was concluded researchers and attract the attention of society to the conclusion that the formation of work to intervene in this case could affect the health.
